Alistair Messom

Lead CG - Automotive

What do you do at SB?

Lead Automotive Artist. Leading projects & guiding others, my job entails lighting and rendering of automotive projects, also modelling, shading texturing, animation and compositing.

Why do you love coming to work each day?

Being able to imagine and work on amazing pictures.

What inspires you to do your job?

Creativity and technical challenges, creating beautiful imagery is a great passion of mine, so being able to do this as my day job is very inspiring.

What have you enjoyed working on most recently?

BAC Mono R’N’D Project, great project to use modelling, shading, animation, lighting and compositing all in one cool little project.

How is SB different from other companies you have worked for?

I feel the culture at SB is really good, most the artists here have respect for each other and really like to work as a team and share their skill sets with everyone.

How does it feel to be part of SB?

The opposite of empty and soulless.

Describe the culture at SB.

Challenging, creative and a great social atmosphere.

What is the most exciting thing about working at SB right now?

Working on great animation RND pieces to help build the company’s portfolio and show what our CGI guns are made of.

Favourite Project

Vector (4) BAC Mono although it’s something I have worked on myself. Seriously I think this is a great example of full CGI film which showcases a broad range of complex CGI disciplines. In a filmic and imaginative way.
