Since March, the SB Team has been working remotely due to Covid-19. Working from home (WFH) presents many challenges. This interview series gets in depth with SB Team members on the highs and lows of their individual journeys.
Today’s interview explores how Jim Cullen, Senior CG Generalist, is managing WFH having recently moved house.
What are the most difficult things about WFH having moved house so recently? E.g. distractions, coordinating with your partner/family, internet problems.
I haven't met ANY family or friends since lockdown, it’s just me and girlfriend here, so it's great to have some company, I wouldn’t like to know how it feels to be fully alone! We are so grateful that we moved into an actual house with a garden just before the lockdown kicked off.
What are three things you are doing to combat these challenges?
Having all of this time at home has made ordering furniture and sorting out the garden a real breeze, so moving-related things have been a constant and welcome distraction. Also saving lots of money is fun!
Have you found any advice online on how to manage this? If so, which articles/websites have you found helpful?
No, not really.
What are some tips or advice for other people in the same situation as you?
Use this time to rest, catch up on sleep, watch TV shows and play video games - all that good stuff!
What are you doing to split up your work days/weekends?
Not go online or in the computer room where I work on the weekends.
What hobbies are you focusing on whilst in isolation?
Gardening, cooking and gaming!
