Jonathan Elliott

System Support Engineer

What do you do at SB?

IT systems support. Day-to-day server administration, storage, software support, backups etc. Project work, upgrading existing systems and deploying new workstations and servers. And 2nd line support, resolving system problems, to keep everyone in the studio working happily.

Why do you love coming to work each day?

I get to work with a great bunch of people striving to do their best, with everyone approachable and enthusiastic about what we do. And we've got some great IT kit, which is very rewarding to work with.

What inspires you to do your job?

Keep everyone working efficiently, fixing things when they break, automating things and making the most of the equipment we have.

What have you enjoyed working on most recently?

Building a new workstation deployment/imaging system has been a challenging project, but it's really satisfying to see all the hard work come together as we roll it out and see the artists benefit from a fresh workstation build.

How is SB different from other companies you have worked for?

Definitely the superb company culture, and recognising the value of staying ahead of the game by investing in upgrading IT systems and infrastructure.

How does it feel to be part of SB?

I'm really proud to be a part of SB, behind the scenes supporting the great work we do here.

Describe the culture at SB.

Young, fun, relaxed and challenging

What is the most exciting thing about working at SB right now?

We've invested in lots of new server and workstation kit, our pipeline team that sit near me are doing great things, and together we're always looking for ways to leverage new software and technology. Also the sheer enthusiasm from the big bosses for the work we're producing and opportunities for new business is infectious.

Vector (4) The NIO work we've done, the stills and the video reveals are stunning I think; the modelling, lighting and overall effect of the muted colours, really makes the car look futuristic.
